All in the Family

All In the Family Theme Song | Day 290

All In the Family, a show that, well, really ticked me off when I was little.

All in the FamilyAll In the Family was a show that a little guy like myself back in the 70s couldn’t understand.  I know that Archie Bunker’s character was, well, a hot tempered jerk, but I didn’t get the humor at the time.  It’s only in growing up a bit did I realize the message the writers were trying to convey.  This song comes on the heels of me singing the theme song to “Family Guy”, which was tailored to sound like All In the Family’s opening music.  I wonder how this show from the 70s would fair in today’s overly sensitive society.

Only 75 days left…

Lyrics:

Boy the way Glen Miller played
Songs that made the hit parade.
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again.

Didn’t need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.
Those were the days.
