Nick Winter's "Star Wars",..yeah...Bill Murray's rendition has been forever stuck in my mind since 1978. Such a cultural influence on a 10 year old boy
TV Show
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was an 80s show that I never missed. I bet you didn’t know that the theme music had words. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century’s theme song was instrumental throughout the entirety of the series, but the pilot was another matter. Many TV theme […]
South Park, an animated comedy on Comedy Central, is just….HILARIOUS, but man, the stuff can get a bit raunchy. South Park is a little show I discovered quite by accident and man, it’s had my attention for a while now. Folks, if you haven’t watched an episode, you better not […]
Scooby Doo, that wonderful cartoon from the 70s, really taught me a lot about how to approach a mystery. Scooby Doo was a staple TV show in my childhood and I loved seeing the gang solve their mysteries. They used deductive reasoning and didn’t give in to being scared,..well, at […]
All In the Family, a show that, well, really ticked me off when I was little. All In the Family was a show that a little guy like myself back in the 70s couldn’t understand. I know that Archie Bunker’s character was, well, a hot tempered jerk, but I didn’t […]
The Theme to “Family Guy” is something quite amazing when you think of it. Networks tried to stop this intro, but Seth said “we’re doing it”. The Theme to “Family Guy” is something that is not seen, or rather heard, anymore in cartoons, an intro theme song. The networks wanted […]
All throughout my life, this song has perked up from time to time. Another fav from Schoolhouse Rock. I'm Just A Bill taught me a little about the process that a bill goes through before it becomes a law.
WOW! Day 200 starts off with how I feel, an interjection using an exclamation point! I just loved this tune from Schoolhouse Rock.
With "The Preamble", I'm starting my new theme and those of you who are in your 30s and older will remember a little Saturday morning show called "Schoolhouse Rock".
Going through these theme songs from the old TV shows really makes me appreciate the sheer talent that not only created these fun songs but the talent to perform them.
I'll tell ya', the cartoons of this era and sooner used actual orchestration and had complex melodies and harmonies. Take a listen sometime and you'll be amazed.

DONATE TO THE GREEN HILLS ANIMAL SHELTER DONATE TO THE GREEN HILLS ANIMAL SHELTER I was getting near the end and I thought “does this constitute a song since I didn’t actually sing?” This was why the end was a bit tweaked.
