The great divide

The Great Divide, A Vision Given To Me By God

It is happening slowly, but purposefully in this country and around the world. A great “separation”  of the children of God and the children of Satan.

What I’m seeing now, and have seen within the last several years, is more of a dividing line between the children of God/Jesus and the children of wrath (Satan’s kids).  There’s more animosity between the two as dividing lines are being drawn and it only stands to reason why this is so.  Jesus said that “you (the children of Satan) want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:22) and we (the children of God) can’t ignore this ever-growing distinction anymore.

My friends over the past several years have seen a trend where I’m no longer friends with lost folks.  Although I still love them and want to bring them into the light, my relationship with them – though once was good – is no more.  Did I wake up and say “hey, we can’t hang out or talk anymore” and then proceed to burn bridges,..no, but they’ve fallen away on their own, I didn’t have to do anything, as the ever-growing distinctions became more apparent as they are evidenced by our culture as a whole.  There will even come a day, and that day is fast approaching, where we won’t even recognize them as a friend we once had, nor they us, as each of us grows closer to our respective father as we near the end of this age.

God gave me a vision one day, and I’ll tell it to you now.

Two men were traveling the same road when the road began to split, one going towards greener pastures while the other towards rocky terrain.  The split was very subtle in the beginning, the road becoming wider until only a slight division was seen between the ever dividing path.  The two men walked side-by-side for a time talking to each other.  As time went on, the divide between the respective paths was growing farther and farther apart as the two men were going their respective way.  In time, they talked less and less, their voices raising towards each other as the division of destination grew more and more.  Eventually, one could not see the other as the environment changed the more they traveled – to one road, more light to where it blinded the man looking in his former friend’s direction – and to the other, darker, where his former friend was stumbling and growing more angry with each misstep.  In the end, each was one their path and did not even look in the direction of the other.

This is what happens between the two families that are, at present, residing on this blue home.  This is what is meant by the II Corinthians 6:11-18 and other such passages as it pertains to the relationship between the children of the light and the children of destruction.  It’s not that our duty as Christians is to willfully shed our friendship with non-believers, it’s that, in time, as we grow closer to our respective fathers, those former ties will be broken on their own.
