Back in Time Huey Lewis and the News

Back In Time | Day 322

Back In Time, a song that brings back great memories of a great movie, “Back to the Future“.  Huey Lewis and the News, you gave us a great song.

Back in Time Huey Lewis and the NewsBack In Time was a song that kicked off a great trilogy that took the character Marty McFly through some adventures in time.  I will have to admit that I usually rewatch the series at least once a year.  The first one was seen in the old Plaza theatre here in Trenton, MO, a theatre that no longer exists (well, the building does, but it’s an office building now).  I can still remember “hearing” the movie played in the big theatre and how the booms, music and everything else that makes the movie experience come alive, made an impression and lasting memory for this young boy of 16.  Huey Lewis and the News had a hit with this song and it was great seeing the front man for this stellar band make a cameo in the flick.

Only 43 days left…

Lyrics:

Tell me, doctor
Where are we going this time?
Is this the fifties?
Or nineteen ninety-nine?

All I wanted to do
Was play my guitar and sing

Take me away
I don’t mind
You better promise me
I’ll be back in time
Gotta get back in time

Don’t bet your future
On one roll of the dice
Better remember
Lightning never strikes twice

Please don’t drive at eighty-eight
Don’t wanna be late again

Take me away
I don’t mind
You better better promise me
I’ll be back in time
Gotta get back in time
Gotta get back in time
Get me back in time

Gotta get back in time
Gotta get back in time
Get back, get back.
(Get back, Marty.)

Gotta get back in time
Gotta get back in time
Get back, get back.
