The National Anthem

The National Anthem | Day 323

The National Anthem, a fitting song for the celebration of our country’s 240th birthday.

The National AnthemThe National Anthem is a song I’ve done a couple of times at Royals Stadium, as well as other events.  It always provides a challenge, not only in keeping the words straight, but in the range of the piece.  This song aint for beginners, I can tell you that.

Only 42 days left…

Lyrics:

Oh say can you see,
By the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed,
At the twilight’s last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming.

And thy rocket’s red glare,
Thy bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through thee night,
That our flag was still there.

Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
