Can’t Help Falling In Love, a song forever associated with Elvis Presley, had a nice vibe under the overpass with all the rain.
Can’t Help Falling In Love was my choice tonight. For some reason, I don’t know what, I had this tune floating through my head all day. It’s funny how that happens. I’m sure it was something small that started it.
While the song was featured in “Blue Hawaii”, and is one of Elvis’s signature love songs, this was not originally sung to his love interest in the movie. The interesting thing, and I will say cool thing, is that Elvis first sung the song to his grandmother. He presented her with a music box on her birthday. When the song played, he sang it to her. What a sweet thing for anyone to do. The melody had it’s origins in a French melody “Plaisir D’Amour,” It’s a great song and I had fun doing it on a dark and stormy night.
Only 80 days left…
Lyrics:
Wise men say
Only fools rush in
But I can’t help falling in love with you
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can’t help falling in love with you?
Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand,
Take my whole life, too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand,
Take my whole life, too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
For I can’t help falling in love with you
