“Dirty Laundry”, the words to this Don Henley tune are as relevant today as they were back in the 80s. It seems that the news outlets seek more dirt and don’t care about the “clean” that people do. Dirty Laundry seems to always be the news of the day.
When I started this gig, I got some pretty cool press coverage from a lot of news outlets. Almost every single one of them thanked me. I was rather shocked at this at the beginning. I thought they were thanking me for doing this for the animal shelter critters, but that wasn’t it. Many of the news crews thanked me for giving them something “good” to report. Day in and day out, they had to report on the “dirty laundry” of the world and they were thankful that they came and reported on something good, something selfless (these are not my words, but the words of the news crews). I was glad to be a part of a bright spot in their day.
As I stated, the song is as relevant (sadly) today as it was back in the day. Here are the lyrics:
