You'Ve Got A Friend In Me

You’ve Got A Friend In Me | Day 326

You’ve Got A Friend In Me was day 326 and it was an odd evening, to say the least.  With black bicycles and black buggies, it was a wonder I made it back alive.

You'Ve Got A Friend In MeYou’ve Got A Friend In Me, a song written and performed by Randy Newman from Toy Story, was the song I chose for the evening.  My wife and youngest kiddo came back a bit late (around dusk) and so I made it out to the underpass.  As I pulled in, I saw 4 hispanic men riding black bicycles going the opposite way (West) in the other lane.  Kinda weird.  I did my song and headed back home when, in passing Hy-Vee, I saw several black Amish buggies pulled into the parking lot.  I chuckled to myself as I was thinking about the “men in black”, if it were to happen in the 19th century (they’re follow me).

Only 39 days left…

Lyrics:

You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you’re miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you’ve got a friend in me
Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me

You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got troubles, and I’ve got ’em too
There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you
We stick together and can see it through
‘Cause you’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me

Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too, maybe
But none of them will ever love you
The way I do, it’s me and you, boy
And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You’re gonna see it’s our destiny
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
