Sister Christian | Day 242

Sister Christian | Day 242

“Sister Christian” is a Night Ranger tune from the 80s.  Performing it brought back a lot of memories.

Sister Christian | Day 242Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian” was a staple song for those of us who went through the 80s.  While it was, and still is, a great song, the radio stations really overkilled the tune.  It’s sad when that happens because it can ruin a good song.  Day 242 saw the return of Sister Christian under the overpass.

Unlike yesterday’s song “Birth Ritual”, this piece was much tougher from the standpoint of technique.  There are some songs that sound good with some voices and Sister Christian, for my voice, really didn’t work.  I know it sounds like I’m apologizing before the performance, a “no-no” in the world of stage, but I’m not, merely stating a fact.  Night Ranger did an awesome job with this tune and it fits the front men’s voices well.  Working from a mix register to total head voice at the chorus was the blend of the day.

Lyrics:

Sister Christian
Oh, the time has come
And you know that you’re the only one
To say, okay
Where you going
What you looking for
You know those boys
Don’t want to play no more with you
It’s true

You’re motoring
What’s your price for flight
In finding mister right
You’ll be alright tonight

Babe, you know
You’re growing up so fast
And mama’s worrying
That you won’t last
To say, let’s play
Sister Christian
There’s so much in life
Don’t you give it up
Before your time is due
It’s true
It’s true, yeah

Motoring
What’s your price for flight
You’ve got him in your sight
And driving through the night
Motoring
What’s your price for flight
In finding mister right
You’ll be alright tonight

[Instrumental interlude]

Motoring
What’s your price for flight
In finding mister right
You’ll be alright tonight
Motoring
What’s your price for flight
In finding mister right
You’ll be alright tonight

Sister Christian
Oh, the time has come
And you know that you’re the only one
To say, okay
But you’re motoring
Yeah, motoring
