Rainbow in the Dark is a song I did before, but took a different approach. Today, I tried to make Dio proud.
Ronnie James Dio,..man,..that cat could wail and Rainbow In the Dark was a trademark song for him. It’s funny, but when I did this, a major storm front was moving into Trenton and I rushed to get it done. I didn’t know what I was going to sing (like normal) until I heard the storm warnings. After those, my mission was clear. I had done this tune in the early days of this project, but my voice wasn’t up to the awesomeness that it required, so I took it down a notch and made it a different type of piece. Today, on a dark and stormy night, Rainbow In the Dark was a tribute to an awesome rocker. R.I.P. Dio.
