In the 2020 election (or 2024), we (Christians) will be given a choice by God to choose a side, so let’s look at our choices and see the repercussions.
As of the writing of this article, Super Tuesday has come and gone with Joe Biden taking away the majority of the delegates, but it is still up for grabs and Bernie Sanders could still win the nation’s democratic nomination to run against Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
It is my personal opinion that Bernie will win and run against Trump, and here’s why.
As I have stated in previous posts, it’s not the voters that put a leader in a position of power, but God Himself. Because of this, we (Christians) have been given a choice as to how we will react to God’s decision(s), whether we will submit, or rebel. Over the last 3 to 4 years, we have chosen the latter and we have felt the consequences of our choices. Many Christians have rebelled at this notion, but the verses are quite clear in this matter. This is not to say that we should not recognize character flaws, bad choices, and the like, but we are to give honor to those for whom God has appointed over us. The entirety of Romans 13:1-7 should be read for context.
But this election cycle is a bit different as not only a choice as to a candidate that represents a party that has chosen to shed innocent blood for which God hates, a party that has chosen to etch out God’s Name from their foundations (it was put back in, thankfully), much like the Grandfather of King Josiah, but also represents how we (Christian voters) choose to look at the type of ruler we want. Will we choose a ruler like King Saul or a just ruler like King David?
Now, let’s keep in mind that I don’t think that Donald Trump is like King David, nor do I see him as the second coming.
Bernie Sanders (or others like him) represents not only the Democratic ideal, which, in several instances go against the Will of God stated in the 4th paragraph above (just to name a few), but also represent an ideal that the Devil himself approves of – the idea of Socialism.
Now, I won’t go into why Socialism is bad as we have all heard this, but I wanted to expand upon the choice Christians have with regard to the type of rule we will choose.
Even under our new prosperous age that is similar to the time in which the prophet Samuel ruled, a great deal of the population wants a King (President) to rule over them in a manner that they approve of, rejecting God. Samuel warned them about the ruler they would have, but they didn’t care and chose the manor of HOW they would be ruled in a single refrain.
Much in the same way that Samuel told everyone to go to their own city after their refrain for a King, we (Christians) will go to the voting booths in November to choose the manner of how we will be ruled. Read 1 Samuel 8:1-22 for the full story.
Whether Bernie makes the Democratic nomination or not, a Socialist WILL come onto the political playing field and run for President. Not only will he, or she, represent an ideal that is an abomination to God, but also represent a method of ruling that will be the transition method (Socialism) for a totalitarian regime with the Beast as it’s head. Christians that go to the voting booths should keep that in mind in November and other elections in the future.
Yes, we don’t have much in the way of good choices nowadays, but we can choose to follow the Will of God when it comes to the things that He hates as opposed to choosing to be for, or against a person’s character flaws that offend us. It’s true that God hates it when His Kids (people who profess to be Christian) are vulgar and nasty towards others, but we all go into this faith walk with baggage. We can change, but aligning ourselves with ideals and methods is a different story.
Lost folks, well, they are going to fulfill their job descriptions, but children of God – we follow a different standard, or, att least we’re supposed to do so.
