Healing-Hands

…And These Signs Will Follow…

Healings and all the rest are never meant to “stand alone” but to be paired with the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

In my short time as a Christian, I have laid hands on the sick, and they have recovered. I have cast out devils in Jesus’s name and spoken in tongues. All these things occurred but in small doses and quite sporadically.

They occurred sporadically because I failed to do the one big thing – give the Good News.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” ~Matthew 28:19-20 KJV

– and –

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15-16 KJV

You see, these parts of the commission come first BEFORE the signs – “And these signs shall follow them that believe;…” (verse 17 of Mark). The signs (healings, casting out of devils, tongues, etc.) are meant to prove to the lost that these people telling you about Jesus are from God – that they wield power so that glory can be given to Jesus. Back in the times of the disciples, many preached a path or talked about a savior, but none could back it up with the mighty signs of those believers of Jesus.

Healings and all the rest are never meant to “stand alone” but to be paired with the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Ghost does the work of moving people to repentance and believing in Jesus. The Holy Ghost will also cause healings, miracles, and freeing of demons where the FULL Gospel is told. The Gospel stirs those who are being called. The Word of God (Logos & Rhema) brings about faith in Jesus and all signs pointing to the one who forgives sins.

So, if you want to see some real signs happen, forget the music, the production, and the technology. Preach the FULL Gospel – telling the story of Jesus from birth, life, death, and resurrection. That’s all you have to do as a believer. Tell the story, forget the “formula,” and let the Holy Ghost do His Work.
