The Devil Speaking To Judas At The Last Supper

When God “Speaks” To Me And What I Do After

I don’t mean to be a downer to those who “hear God speaking.” However, it’s dangerous to make decisions based on a voice that, most likely, is not God.

I’ve had several instances in my life where God has REVEALED to me – directly – an answer to a question, but only one instance where an audible voice was heard. I wait and check what was revealed in the Holy Bible in every instance. I’ve had visions, dreams, instances where Holy Scripture “stood out,” hymns and other types of revelation come to mind.

But I only heard God’s Voice once, which is a private matter. I emphasize this to make a point; if you hear “God’s Voice” or a brother or sister in Christ hears God’s Voice, that is an oddity and should be checked out.

Yes, God can speak, but everything He could say has already been told in the Holy Bible. I believe 2 Timothy 3:16-17 was when God spoke audibly – as you would hear with another person – and the writers took dictation. This occurred throughout the Old and New Testaments. When we desire to know God’s Will, He reminds us of Holy Scripture through the Holy Spirit (John 14:26, 16:12-14). Those who have not received Salvation through Jesus Christ are given, at times, the gift of hearing God Speak so they can be led to Jesus, but afterward, it’s revelation through Holy Scripture.

I don’t mean to be a downer to those who “hear God speaking.” However, it’s dangerous to make decisions based on a voice that, most likely, is not God (1 John 4:1-6). I think the “Trump prophets” that came up during the 2020 election serve as an example of people listening to their thoughts or something else, not God. Regarding end-time events, there is no more “future” prophecy as it has all been written down in the Holy Bible.

No new revelation stands apart from Holy Scripture (Galatians 1:8). Be wary of self-proclaimed “prophets of the Lord” that arise within congregations giving personal, group, and worldwide forecasts. They will lead you astray, and God may be testing His Children in allowing specific visions to come true to see if you will worship something other than God (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).
