Sex and Candy, this tune from Marcy Playground, was another favorite of mine from the 90s. It’s still groovy.
Sex and Candy, I must admit that I almost didn’t do this one simply because of the “sex” part. Kinda stupid, but there are limits as to the songs I will sing, but this tune, in my opinion, really didn’t cast that big of a controversy back in the day and I don’t think it will be that way under the overpass.
The words are so reflective of the attitude during that time, especially with many of the 20-somethings like myself. Just gotta hang out and think about myself, really quite amusing since the message of that particular phrase punches you in the face with brutal honesty of a self-centered nature. Sex and Candy, the song is awesome and reminiscent of a decade long past.
